Winchester, IN (August 31, 2017) – One week after securing a podium finish in the CARS Super Late Model Tour, Christian Eckes returns to the ARCA/CRA Super Series to battle it out at Winchester Speedway in the Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival.
Serving as a warmup to the upcoming Winchester 400, Eckes and his Fury Race Car Toyota team will take on the ARCA/CRA Super Series regulars hoping to tame the famous high banks of Winchester Speedway.
Eckes, 16 years-old, considered one of the top driver prospects in the country, grabbed headlines last season winning the 2016 Myrtle Beach 400, the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park, and the prestigious Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway.
The Middletown, NY native also is one of the rising stars in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Debuting with Venturini Motorsports (VMS) in 2016, Eckes has quickly become made a name for himself on the national level.
Making 13 career starts in ARCA’s top national touring series, the talented teen has become a legitimate contender each and every time he straps into his Toyota race car. In 2017 Christian is among the series top drivers with 274-laps led to go along with four top-5’s and 9 top-10 finishes in just nine attempts.
Earlier this month Eckes tied a career-best finishing second at Winchester Speedway driving for VMS in the ARCA Racing Series. No question the experienced he gained at Winchester will help this coming weekend in his Super Late Model return.
“Winchester is such a cool track,” said Eckes. “I had a great run there with Venturini earlier this month – the experienced I gained will help a ton when we return with our Fury Race Car. It’s a fast track. And it’s going to be a lot quicker around the half-mile in these lighter super late model cars. There are a lot of different lines to work once the track rubbers-up. It should make for an exciting race come Monday.”
The ARCA/CRA Super Series Winchester 100 is Monday, September 4 with green flag action starting at 1:00PM est.
